About us:

Southeastern Virginia Society of the Deaf is an organization comprised of Deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing people working together with a common goal of one day opening a resource center for the Deaf and hard of hearing in Hampton Roads Virginia.

Mission:

The primary goals of Southeastern Virginia Society of the Deaf are:

 

  • Promote the education and well-being of the Deaf community at large.
  • Offer opportunities for social and cultural enrichment for both Deaf and hearing people.
  • Educate the public regarding communication access and equal opportunities for Deaf persons in our community.
  • Educate the public as well as the Deaf community as to our LEGAL rights under the American's with Disabilities Act of Fundraising and writing grants to finance Hampton Road's first ever Resource Center for the Deaf.
